Ant exterminator near you

A trail across the counter every morning, mounds appearing in the lawn, or sawdust that means carpenter ants are in the wood. Call and we put you through to a local company that goes after the colony rather than the trail.

  • Real person answers, day or night
  • Same-day visits in most areas

Is this what you have?

The signs

  • Trails along the wall, counter or floor, usually to food or water
  • Fine sawdust piles below window sills or baseboards — carpenter ants
  • Mounds in the lawn or along the driveway
  • Winged ants swarming indoors in spring
  • Ants in the pet bowl, the dishwasher or the bathroom
  • A smell like rotten coconut when one is crushed — odorous house ants

Heads up. Spraying the trail you can see usually makes things worse: the colony buds and you end up with several nests instead of one. Bait is the fix.

On the day

What the technician does

  1. Identify the species

Carpenter, fire, odorous house, pavement or pharaoh — each one is baited differently, so this step decides everything after it.

  2. Bait the colony

Professional bait carried back by the workers, which reaches the queen and the brood.

  3. Perimeter and nest treatment

A residual band around the foundation, plus direct treatment of mounds or a nest in a wall void.

  4. Seal and advise

Gaps around windows, doors and pipework closed up, and a word about the moisture and food that brought them in.

Getting ready, and what it runs

Preparation

Don’t spray the trails before the visit — the technician needs to see where they run. Wipe the counters and get sweet things and pet food into sealed containers.

One visit or ongoing

Most ant problems are done in one or two visits. Houses that get them every year often keep a quarterly perimeter service.

What moves the price

  • Species — carpenter and fire ants are more work
  • How many nests there are and where
  • Inside and outside, or outside only
  • One visit or a quarterly service

Questions

Ants — questions we get a lot

Who do I call for ants?

Call (833) 784-1375 and we connect you with a local ant control company.

Why have they suddenly appeared?

Heat, drought or heavy rain pushes them indoors looking for food and water. A few crumbs or a damp patch under the sink is plenty.

How long until they’re gone?

Bait works over days to a couple of weeks as the workers carry it home. A perimeter treatment knocks down what you can see straight away.

Carpenter ants or termites?

Carpenter ants have a pinched waist and bent antennae and leave clean sawdust. Termites are straight-sided and leave mud tubes — see termites.
